Hello WorkHardPGH.com, today we wanted to share with you an inside look at a local startup creating a new way to book and find Travel. The founders
Arman Bimatov, Alla Safonova, Maxim Likhachev all have made their home here in the Pittsburgh region after coming to the U.S. from Latvia and Russia. The group has been working on TravelWits.com for over 2 years.
We connected with the group and they are asking if you can help provide them with feedback about their new beta product focused on finding last minute travel packages that combine flights, hotels, trains, cars, buses, Uber from Pittsburgh.
TW Story
TravelWits.com started out as company focused on finding alternative airports and multimodal transportation options to get from one place to another. For example, if you wanted to fly from Pittsburgh to Florida their website would help you examine what flight from airports near the origin and destination have best flights, and for instance, if it would be cheaper to drive to Cleveland and take a flight to Florida vs. a direct flight from Pittsburgh to Florida.
Fast forward to 2016 and TravelWits expanded on that concept, but focused on all Inclusive vacations in the Caribbean. Now after a seed round investment led by CoalHill Ventures and joined by Innovation Works and URA, the group has moved toward focusing on finding best last minute travel packages that combine flights, hotels, trains, cars, buses, Uber. A big emphasis of their product is on weekend getaways.
For TravelWits it has been a journey to discover the right niche for their technology, and they are proud to be releasing a finalized version of their product this summer to the Pittsburgh, Boston, NYC, and Washington, DC markets. They are calling their travel packages TripKits in order to help users distinguish and remember their offers.
